About the Emperor Penguin

EMPEROR PENGUIN from the scientific family Spheniscidae is an aquatic, flightless bird living almost exclusively in Antarctica in the southern hemisphere. The adult averages 3 ft. 7" tall and weighs 75 lbs or more. The Emperor Penguin is best known for its sequence of journeys made each year to mate and feed their offspring.

Declining food availability due to the effects of climate change, over fishing and habitat destruction brings the Emperor Penguin under consideration for inclusion under the US Endangered Species Act.
